The college’s One Health pioneers discuss its origins and how it has evolved. Building on a strong foundation, members of the next generation of One Health veterinarians discuss their work in comparative medicine and public health. 12 Wildlife and One Health Veterinarians specializing in wildlife and ecosystem health have been instrumental in understanding and controlling threats ranging from West Nile virus and avian influenza to lead poisoning and invasive species. China Swine Conference Planned The College plans to bring the annual Leman Swine Conference to China, the world’s largest pork-producing country. The procedure was part of an experimental therapy that also included gene therapy and the administration of a vaccine created by John Ohlfest, director of the University’s translational neurosurgery gene therapy program.
