The University of Minnesota Duluth adopts a model based on the principles of shared governance in order to form a collaborative community among faculty, students, staff, and administrators; establish channels of communication; ensure inclusion; provide for education, research, and creative activity; promote campus engagement and lifelong learning. The top collection below ("Constitution, Bylaws, and Overview and Review Documentation") contains general information about UMD's Shared Governance system. The other collections contain materials (generally meeting minutes) for each entity within the system. These materials date back to 1996 and are incomplete. Additional physical materials are housed in the UMD Archives and Special Collections unit.
