Abstract
This project was completed as part of the 2013-2014 Resilient Communities Project (rcp.umn.edu) partnership with the City of North St. Paul. To engage more residents in natural areas in the city, North St. Paul was interested in environmental education and management initiatives that would bring more residents to surrounding parks. Project lead Jon Fure collaborated with students in Dr. Ken Gilbertson’s EnEd 5325: Environmental Issues Investigation course at the University of Minnesota Duluth campus to develop recommendations to improve the visitor experience at parks. Based on their research, the students offered recommendations for education, community development, recreation, and environmental improvements. The final report, presentation, and a poster are available.
