Abstract
Four themes are interwoven throughout our recommendations: interdisciplinarity, interconnectedness, effectiveness, and identity. We recommend a substantial infusion of resources to provide scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students; to increase the size of the CLA faculty by 44 positions, and to increase the compensation of faculty and staff. The resources must come from private donors, foundation and other grants as wellas from increased state support.
