Abstract
Those of us in academia who are faculty, students, and "white collar" staff and administrators are
familiar with offices, classrooms, and labs. But there are many other places in the university,
where things are done that make our work possible, that we may never see. About a year and a
half ago I began a project to photograph "behind the scenes", to see---and to show others---the
people and operations that make our academic work possible.
