The University must commit substantial new funds to support faculty compensation and to provide additional family friendly benefits....The University must invest strategically in resources, people, and systems that support faculty scholarship.... The University should redraft significant portions of the tenure code and alter current processes and reward systems so that they coincide with its stated goals and values.... The University must create effective systems that foster inter-disciplinary and collaborative research and teaching.... The University must creatively explore new ways to enhance the intellectual climate on campus....

Description

The documents (preliminary report and executive summary) provide advice on improving systems on campus to improve recruitment, hiring and retention, as well as to improve the culture of research, teaching and inquiry at the University of Minnesota.
