Abstract
With increasing frequency the self-concept is finding its way into organizational paradigms. This paper reviews the conceptual meanings of self-esteem and self-efficacy, and their respective roles within the organizational literature. An empirical investigation of the antecedent and consequent conditions of both concepts is presented. Contrary to predictions, organization-based self-esteem emerges as the more productive self-concept.
