Abstract

A model that defines employee ownership and reviews the process through which ownership leads to positive socialpsychological and behavioral effects is described. Employee ownership is presented as a viable option for the design, operation, and management of the small business. Issues pertaining to how to design an effective employee ownership system are presented, and a number of preconditions to the effective operation of an employee ownership system are outlined.
