Abstract
Nicole talks to Dr. Daheia Barr-Anderson, Associate Professor in the School of Kinesiology at the University of Minnesota. Her research interests include physical activity, sedentary behaviors, and obesity prevention in children and adolescents. We talk candidly about her community-based physical activity interventions with African-American mother-daughters, the power for yoga, and her dive into the effects of racism and micro aggressions on the health of African American women. You won’t want to miss her three practical and applied take-homes from her research. Learn more about Dr. Barr-Anderson’s work as the Director, Behavioral Physical Activity Laboratory at University of Minnesota and Tucker Center Affiliated Scholar.
