Abstract

The Institute's monthly staff newsletter featuring news of recent activities, accomplishments, and resources. This month's first feature story is about ICI's collaboration with the Minnesota Office of Higher Education, which is offering competitive grants to eligible Minnesota higher education institutions that provide meaningful credentials upon graduation to students with intellectual disability. The second story is about ICI's Direct Support Workforce Solutions group, which is working with stakeholders in several states to recruit and retain direct support professionals. The third story is about a new project that will use teleoutreach to improve outcomes for children and adolescents with developmental, emotional, or behavioral health needs; the project will pay particular attention to military families, geographically-dispersed families, and families who are highly mobile or lack providers near their homes. This month's alumni update is about Sergiy Sydoriv, an education professor in Ukraine and former Americans with Disabilities Act fellow who still teaches inclusive education, even though his country has become a war zone.
