Abstract
Between 4-20 % of women suffer from chronic pelvic pain. This condition is characterized by pain in the lower abdomen that has been going on for longer than six months, that is not directly caused by the menstrual cycle, and interferes with everyday life. It is a condition not a disease. This pamphlet outlines the primary causes of chronic pelvic pain and how these are diagnosed and treated.
