Abstract
Housing has been examined from many perspectives, including sociological, psychological, historical, and economic. This paper will introduce a framework for looking at housing as it relates to a regional economy. The purpose of this study is to explore the use of computer simulation in housing analysis. Specifically, the objectives of this paper are to: (1) describe the significance and potential contributions of using simulation as a research technique in housing analysis; (2) describe an existing economic simulation model and the operationalization of its housing components; (3) present the results and interpretation of a specific housing simulation scenario; and (4) discuss potential future application of the model.
