Abstract
This is the second in a series of reports dealing with the economy of Duluth and northeast Minnesota. The first identified the excess and deficit demand conditions for northeast Minnesota as preliminary estimates of the export and import requirements of the economy. This report will analyze the structure of the northeast Minnesota economy and attempt to identify the most important industrial sectors in terms of that structure. Also included in this report is a description of the input/output model used to analyze the economy's structure and copy of the complete, 75 sector input/output system for northeast Minnesota. The latter tables are included as an appendix to this report.
