Description

"Symbolic Significance: Tracing the History of Jewish High Holidays and the First Day of School" was an exhibit showcased at Elmer L. Andersen Library, on view from September 5, 2023 - January 30, 2024. Curated by Archivist Kate Dietrick, the exhibit showcased materials from the Upper Midwest Jewish Archives, as well as from University Archives and the Minnesota Historical Society. The exhibit consisted of 12 panels, as well as supplementary side panels that were mounted on the walls on the third floor of Andersen Library. Included is the publicity poster, all 12 panels, and the supplementary panels. There is also a .csv file of the dates of the first day of school at the University of Minnesota and Jewish high holidays that year; it covers 1913-2023. That data created the infographic for the extras panel titled Conflict on Campus.
