Abstract

This project was completed as part of the University of Minnesota's 2017-2018 Resilient Communities Project (rcp.umn.edu) partnership with the City of Ramsey. The goal of this project was to explore a decentralized community-center model where that integrates recreational and other infrastructure and programming desired by residents into the existing park and trail system, while being mindful of the urban/rural balance that exists in the community. Ramsey project lead Mark Riverblood collaborated with a team of students enrolled in James Wheeler's ARCH 3250 course, and Jessica Rossi-Mastracci and Joe Favour's LA 3002 course, to research the park and trail system in Ramsey and propose conceptual designs that furthers the community's needs. A final student report, handout, and poster from the project are available.

Report, handout, and poster completed by students enrolled in ARCH 3250: Community Design and Public Interest Architecture taught by James Wheeler and LA 3002: Informants of Creating Landscape Space taught by Jessica Rossi-Mastracci and Joe Favour in spring 2018.
