Abstract
Description
Neighborhood organizations face a tide of rising expectations that have, in many cases, transformed the position of neighborhood organizer" from a part-time volunteer job to an ever-more demanding full-time paid job. This monograph reports on a survey conducted in September 1989 of neighborhood organizers in the Twin Cities. It provides a portrait of who is out there organizing, gives initial data on how to increase training opportunities and job satisfaction for current organizers, and examines ways to attract and prepare new people for this work.
