Abstract

The Institute's monthly staff newsletter featuring news of recent activities, accomplishments, and resources. In this month's first feature story, ICI Director Amy Hewitt urges disparate segments of the disability community to work urgently, and holistically, for the inclusion of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in communities. The second story is about ICI collaborating with other organizations to end stigma in Ghana against people with disabilities. The third story is about an academic review that ICI researchers wrote on social inclusion. The final story links to the obituary of a civil rights attorney who spent his career advocating for the rights, community inclusion, and informed choice of people with disabilities. This month's update is about self-advocate Heidi Myhre hosting an ICI celebration.
