Commission QT

Commission QT is committed to supporting a safe, welcoming, and enriching climate for the UMD LGBTQIA2S+ community that encourages LGBTQIA2S+ students, faculty, and staff to thrive intellectually, socially, and emotionally at the University. We strive to accomplish this through community building, education, advocacy, collaboration, outreach and support.

Historical note: The GLBT Advisory Commission was established around 1990. By 2011 (but definitely post-2004) it was the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Allied Advisory Commission. It became the GLBTQAI Commission (probably standing for "Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Asexual, and Intersex") in approximately 2014-2015. That Commission faded during the COVID-19 pandemic but was revived and renamed Commission QT in 2022-2023.
