Abstract

Description

Promoting healthy choices at your food shelf is a class for food shelf volunteers and staff. The class instructs participants about basic nutrition principles and nudging techniques. Support resources for the class included. Participants who attend this class will: • Gain a better understanding of basic nutrition and what makes up healthy food choices. (We will use the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s MyPlate guidelines.) The idea is to pass on this knowledge to food shelf clients. • Learn and practice simple nudging techniques. This will help you encourage clients at their food shelves to make healthier food choices.
