Abstract

This project was completed as part of the 2013-2014 Resilient Communities Project (rcp.umn.edu) partnership with the City of North St. Paul. The City of North St. Paul was looking to encourage more residents to engage with natural areas in the City, particularly the Southwood Nature Preserve. Project lead Jon Fure partnered with students in DES 3131: User Experience in Design, taught by Ange Wang, to develop design recommendations to improve the park experience. Their proposal focused on family experience, and suggested creating a “create your own adventure” program. This is one of 8 proposals completed on this topic for this course. The final report and a poster summarizing the work of all 8 groups are available.
