Methods of Training: Sequencing of Programming and Organizing Training
(2010) Kirckof, Chris; Damme, Susan; Mongan-Rallis, Helen
This project looks at the different methods and models of periodization used for training athletes, as well as discuss the efficiency and effectiveness of each model as it pertains to sports training in an attempt to find the most optimal method for training athletes. Specifically, comparisons will be made between the American style of training and those of the former Soviet Republic that used to dominate sport competitions for two decades. The project will culminate in a proposed curriculum for a training program based on the results of the literature review.
