Item Evaluation of Methods, Means, and Adaptations for the Treatment of Sexual Offenders with Learning Disabilities(2012) Klancher, Brian; Rauschenfels, DianeTreatment programs utilized to provide therapy to sexual offenders, especially those with learning disabilities, have rarely been evaluated in research. This field of research has been around such a short time that there are no methods or practices that have consistently shown to be the most effective in treating this population. In the present study, 30 treatment staff members were asked to complete a survey regarding treatment methods for sexual offenders with learning disabilities. The responses were varied, though the main focus was on individualized treatment. The results and implications for future research will be discussed.
