Item Increasing Landlord Participation in Rental Assistance Programs(Resilient Communities Project (RCP), University of Minnesota, 2019) Harvatine, Anna; Hitt, Mara; Jenson, Dominik; Rivera, NicoleThis project was completed as part of a year-long partnership between Scott County and the University of Minnesota’s Resilient Communities Project (http://www.rcp.umn.edu). The goal of this project was to develop resources for landlords and tenants in Scott County to encourage participation in affordable housing programs. Scott County CDA project lead Molly Link collaborated with two student groups in Professor Becky Yust’s course HSG 4461 to develop web-based information and educational programming resources for landlords and residents. Final deliverables including student-designed handouts for landlords and tenants, PowerPoint presentation slides, and a poster from the project are available.Item Ramsey Community Center: Decentralized Ramsey(Resilient Communities Project (RCP), University of Minnesota, 2018) Forey, Marin; Hasslen, Nick; Hitt, Mara; Medeiros, JordanThis project was completed as part of the University of Minnesota's 2017-2018 Resilient Communities Project (rcp.umn.edu) partnership with the City of Ramsey. The goal of this project was to explore a decentralized community-center model where that integrates recreational and other infrastructure and programming desired by residents into the existing park and trail system, while being mindful of the urban/rural balance that exists in the community. Ramsey project lead Mark Riverblood collaborated with a team of students enrolled in James Wheeler's ARCH 3250 course, and Jessica Rossi-Mastracci and Joe Favour's LA 3002 course, to research the park and trail system in Ramsey and propose conceptual designs that furthers the community's needs. A final student report, handout, and poster from the project are available.
