We apply this characterization to obtain an explicit formula for the entries of the matrix equation for the Lagrange multiplier unknowns resulting from hybridization. We also obtain necessary and sufficient conditions under which the multipliers of the Raviart-Thomas and the Brezzi-Douglas-Marini methods of similar order are identical.Item Continuous dependence and error estimation for viscosity methods(2003-04) Cockburn, BernardoIn this paper, we review some ideas on continuous dependence results for the entropy solution of hyperbolic scalar conservation laws. They lead to a complete L (L1)-approximation theory with which error estimates for numerical methods for this type of equations can be obtained. The approach we consider consists in obtaining continuous dependence results for the solutions of parabolic conservation laws and deducing from them the corresponding results for the entropy solution. This is a natural approach as the entropy solution is nothing but the limit of solutions of parabolic scalar conservation laws as the viscosity coefficient goes to zero.Item Convergence of a fin ite element method for the drift-diffusion semiconductor device equations: The multidimensional case(1993-09) Chen, Zhangxin; Cockburn, BernardoItem The development of discontinuous Galerkin methods(1999-12) Cockburn, Bernardo; Karniadakis, George E.; Shu, Chi-WangItem An error estimate for finite element methods for scalar conservation laws(1993-06) Cockburn, Bernardo; Gremaud, Pierre-AlainItem Error estimates for a finite element method for the drift-diffusion semiconductor device equations(1992-08) Chen, Zhangxin; Cockburn, BernardoItem The local discontinuous Galerkin method for contaminant transport(1999-12) Aizinger, Vadym; Dawson, Clint; Cockburn, Bernardo; Castillo, PaulItem Local discontinuous Galerkin methods for the Stokes system(2000-10) Cockburn, Bernardo; Kanschat, Guido; Schotzau, Dominik; Schwab, ChristophItem A mixed finite element method for elasticity in three dimensions(2004-07) Adams, Scot; Cockburn, BernardoItem Mixed-RKDG finite element methods for the 2-D hydrodynamic model for semiconductor device simulation(1992-12) Chen, Zhangxin; Cockburn, Bernardo; Jerome, Joseph W.; Shu, Chi-WangItem n adaptive method with rigorous error control for the Hamilton-Jacobi equations.
