Abstract

We give a direct proof of the market equilibrium theorem of Gale-Nikaido-Debreu for an infinite, dimensional commodity space. Our theorem is closely related to a recent result of Aliprantis-Browu, but allows for excess demand correspondences rather than excess demand functions.
