Abstract

Description

This report is intended to answer specific research questions regarding employment and contracting opportunities for minorities working for the city of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. The report resulted from a project undertaken with African American Action Committee that (1) collected data on current employment disparities and hiring practices by the city related to people of color and (2) collected data on the construction contracts awarded by the city to minority contractors, developers, architects, and suppliers. The project's focus was mainly on African Americans, but the employment status of other minorities was also examined.
