Dr. Barbara Buchenau, Professor of North American Literary and Cultural Studies at the University Duisburg-Essen in Germany, provides an introduction to the thoughts of three Jewish scholars who were exiled from Germany during the Holocaust: Norbert Elias, Erich Auerbach, Ernst Cassirer.
