Abstract

This project was completed as part of a year-long partnership between the City of Rosemount and the University of Minnesota’s Resilient Communities Project (http://www.rcp.umn.edu). Employee wellness programs have been in the spotlight in recent years as employers attempt to reduce health insurance costs and boost employee productivity and satisfaction. As an employer, the City of Rosemount is interested in enhancing their employee wellness program. The goal of this project was to assess the health and wellness issues that are most prevalent for Rosemount city employees and provide recommendations for a comprehensive wellness program. In collaboration with city project lead Emmy Foster, Assistant City Administrator for the City of Rosemount, a team of students in PSY 3960: Stress & Trauma conducted a survey of City employees to identify common sources of stress and recommended wellness initiatives to address these sources of stress. A final presentation from the project is available.
