Abstract
Shrinkage, as otherwise referred to as ‘shrink’, is the measurement of inventory losses not due to sales. Inventory shrinkage is a well-known phenomenon in the field of supply chain and operations management, known to hurt retailers’ revenue and competitiveness (Schroeder, Goldstein 2021). Thus, it is an important issue for US retailers. The main goal of this research is to identify optimal solutions to combat shrinkage in brick and mortar retail stores while balancing customer experience and operational costs.
