This report summarizes the Fifth Annual Freight and Logistics Symposium, held in Minneapolis on December 7, 2001: keynote presentation “Four Weeks, Four Months, Four Years: The Future of Freight Transportation” by Barry Butzow; a panel titled “State Freight Initiatives” moderated by Time Penny, with panelists Elwyn Tinklenberg, John Hartnet; “National Freight Initiatives” presented by Gary Maring; a panel titled “Carrier/Shipper Perspective” moderated by Fred Beier with panelists Terry Hoitink, Toby Madden; “Congressional Update” presented by Elwyn Tinklenberg; closing by Robert Johns.
