Abstract

For centuries lecturing has been the primary function of a classroom. But with our technological tools, now information can be transferred outside the classroom on computers, iPads and smart phones.... “Flipping” simply means inverting the transfer of information in the classroom with interaction in the classroom, turning the traditional approach to learning on its head. And it works!

In this hands-on session, Marshall Hampton, from the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, will demonstrate how his flipped classes function. We will examine pedagogical implications, learning objectives, and methods.
