Abstract

In my 4,344-word review essay "Robert Hassan's 2024 Article About Nietzsche, and Walter J. Ong's Thought," I highlight (1) Robert Hassan's article "How Typing Transformed Nietzsche's Consciousness"; (2) the pertinent work by the American Jesuit Renaissance specialist and cultural historian and pioneering media ecology theorist Walter J. Ong (1912-2003; Ph.D. in English, Harvard University, 1955) of Saint Louis University; (3) the pertinent work by the Swiss psychiatrist and psychological theorist Carl Jung (1875-1961), with special attention to the seminar he conducted in the 1930s on Nietzsche's Thus Spake Zarathustra (1883); and (4) my own pertinent publications.
