Abstract
DURING THE LAST 20 YEARS numerous technological changes and
government farm programs resulted in major changes in Minnesota's
dairy industry. New types of equipment and improved techniques significantly
affected the costs of producing, transporting, and processing milk.
Relatively stable and favorable prices for nonfat dry milk stimulated farm
sales of whole milk and the development of a dry milk industry.
