Description

Republicans repeatedly attempted to repeal the Affordable Care Act, but failed. Avik Roy, a prominent national conservative, argues that the principal reason they failed is that Republicans did not unite around the goal of ensuring that every American has access to affordable health insurance. Roy will present his proposal, detailed in his book Transcending Obamacare, to achieve universal coverage in ways that expand patient choice and reduce taxpayer costs. Panelists: Avik Roy, President, The Foundation for Research on Equal Opportunity Rep. Laurie Halverson (DFL), District 51B, Minnesota House of Representatives Jan Malcolm, Commissioner, Minnesota Department of Health Rep. Nick Zerwas (R), District 30A, Minnesota House of Representatives Professor Larry Jacobs, moderator
