Abstract
In my 3,350-word review essay "Marcia Pally's 2022 Book about White Evangelicals, and Walter J. Ong's Thought," I highlight Marcia Pally's wide-ranging and learned short book White Evangelicals and Right-Wing Populism: How Did We Get Here? (Routledge/ Taylor & Francis Group, 2022). In it, she explores Donald J. Trump's right-wing populism in 2016 and 2020. Next, I highlight the relevant work of the American Jesuit Renaissance specialist, cultural historian, and pioneering media ecology theorist Walter J. Ong (1912-2003; Ph.D. in English, Harvard University, 1955).
