Abstract
This research estimates the number of bicycle trips and miles traveled in Minnesota. One approach based on a Metropolitan Council travel survey and estimates from the Census journey-to-work indicates Minnesotans take 85 to 96 million bicycle trips annually. A second approach based on a MnDOT population survey indicates Minnesotans take approximately 75.2 million bicycle trips annually. Minnesotans travel between 150 and 200 million miles by bicycle annually.
