Abstract

This project was completed as part of a year-long partnership between Scott County and the University of Minnesota’s Resilient Communities Project (http://www.rcp.umn.edu). The goal of this project was to assess the transportation behaviors and needs of Scott County residents aged 16-24 who do not have regular access to a car to provide information to county transportation administrators so that resources may be structured to more effectively serve this population. Scott County project lead Alan Herrmann collaborated with students in Dr. Greta Friedmann-Sánchez’ course, PA 5041, to conduct a qualitative study with professionals who interact with the young adult demographic in Scott County and identify key challenges that county staff and leadership should address to improve mobility. A final student report and presentation slides from the project are available.
