Abstract
In the first episode, on May 6, we interviewed Amanda Byler, a Family Nurse Practitioner who works with migrant worker communities at Great Lakes Bay Health Centers, and Annalisa Hultberg, University of Minnesota Extension Educator for on-farm food safety, about farm family, farm worker, and customer safety as we enter our production season during a global pandemic. Some resources that were discussed can be found here. Federally Qualified Health Center map These health centers serve under-insured and uninsured people by offering sliding scale fees, increased Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements, and some specialize in bilingual migrant health services. COVID-19 Response Plan Template for Fruit and Vegetable Farms This is a big shared effort to make a template COVID-19 plan for your farm. You can request a copy to customize for your own use. CDC: What To Do If You Are Sick From Amanda: "I also wanted to add a little clarification [at 37:00 minute mark] – the CARES Act eliminated cost of testing specifically for UNINSURED patients.
