Abstract

Tweevenings with Ed Newman August 5th, 2014, 6:30 PM Picasso, Storytelling and The Unknown Masterpiece Ed Newman's talk will revolve around Picasso's interpretation of Honore de Balzac's prescient story The Unknown Masterpiece. The story, which has served as an inspiration to artists as varied as Cezanne, Henry James, Picasso, and New Wave director Jacques Rivette, is, in critic Dore Ashton's words, a “fable of modern art.”
