Join the Center for the Study of Politics and Governance for a presentation by Vin Weber, managing partner of Clark & Weinstock, who will offer his insights and viewpoints on the presidential campaign trail. The conversation will be moderated by Professor Lawrence Jacobs.
Vin Weber is a senior fellow at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs. He served in Congress from 1981 to 1993, representing Minnesota's Second Congressional District. He is co-founder and managing partner at Clark & Weinstock, a public policy advocacy and business consulting firm in Washington, D.C. Prior to Clark & Weinstock, Mr. Weber was president — and co-founder with Jack Kemp, Jeane Kirkpatrick and Bill Bennett — of Empower America, a non-profit public policy think-tank. Mr. Weber is one of the most prominent strategists in the Republican Party and has been a top advisor on numerous presidential campaigns. Mr. Weber currently sits on the board of directors of ITT Educational Services, Inc., and previously was a board member of Chris-Craft, Alliantech Systems, and The Lenox Group, Inc. He served as the Chairman of the National Endowment for Democracy from 2001-2010, is on the Board of Directors Membership Committee for the Council on Foreign Relations, is Chairman of the Audit Committee and member of the Executive Committee for the Aspen Institute and sits on the board of the George Washington University Institute of Political Management. He also previously served on the board of the German Marshall Fund. In addition, Mr. Weber serves on the current U.S. Secretary of Defense's Defense Policy Board.
