Abstract

Description

The Edge of the Wilderness Community Center (EWCC) was formed with a unique Blandin Foundation Grant in 1991 to be a community collaborator with the school district. The EWCC enhances opportunities in education, recreation, and the fine arts in the northern part of Itasca County, a huge, sparsely populated, and economically depressed area. This project summary shows the community-building process of painting muslin back drops for the community theater, under the direction of a student trained in scenic art.
