Abstract

This Preliminary Space Program has been prepared to support the application of the newly organized Medical School of the University of Minnesota, Duluth, for federal assistance in the construction of a basic sciences teaching facility. The materiaI presented in this volume is the resuIt of a planning effort which has involved the faculty and administration of the School, working jointly with the planning consultants and the architect. This process began with a careful analysis of the aims and objectives of the School and has proceeded through functional definition of the facilities and personnel needed to achieve these objectives. At the School's present stage of growth, the Space Program is necessarily an incomplete and preliminary statement which will undergo further development as planning proceeds.
