Abstract

Description

Does raising the minimum wage boost income and spur consumers to spend money in a lackluster economy or does it threaten jobs and a still fragile recovery? President Obama reportedly plans to make the case for raising the minimum wage in his State of the Union Address on January 28th and Minnesota lawmakers will be debating a boost of the state's minimum wage. A terrific panel of lawmakers and experts will debate the issue following Obama's Address. Representative Ryan Winkler, Former Representative King Banaian, Ben Gerber from the MN Chamber of Commerce, and Professor Ann Markuson.
