Abstract

In my 3,100-word review essay "Walter J. Ong's Media Ecology Thought, the Internet, and Donald Trump's Second Term," I first highlight the work of the American Jesuit Renaissance specialist and cultural historian and pioneering media ecology theorist Walter J. Ong (1912-2003; Ph.D. in English, Harvard University, 1955) of Saint Louis University. Next, I briefly discuss the visuality of the internet. Finally, I briefly discuss Donald Trump's resounding victory in the 2024 presidential election and the prospect of his upcoming second term as president of the United States.
