Abstract
Basically, my 5,800-word review essay is about Michiko Kakutani's new book The Death of Truth: Notes on Falsehood in the Age of Trump, on the one hand, and, on the other, Walter J. Ong's thought -- and some related works.
Description
Michiko Kakutani's new book is centered in Trump and the 2016 presidential election. She wants to alert us about the decay of truth. To do this, she critiques deconstruction and postmodernism. But she does not happen to advert to Walter J. Ong's thought. Consequently, I relate his thought to certain points in her discussion.
