The University of Minnesota, Department of Forest Resources in cooperation with Region 3 of
the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has created a spatial database to model the
vegetation cover of the Rice Lake National Wildlife Refuge in Aitkin County, Minnesota
including the Sandstone Unit in adjacent Pine County, Minnesota. This document describes the methodology used to create the spatial products produced for this
project as well as the methods used to assess its accuracy.
