Description
VIREO / Day11 / Flight18. TEST: Closed-loop control law validation. RESULT: Good flight for control law validation. EVENTS: 1. Tested TECS controller for the first time. 2. TECS controller performed well, with little on-the-fly tuning. 3. Turned off all longitudinal control loops except total energy to throttle. Elevator was held fixed at -5 deg TE up. 4. Under the degraded conditions, the command tracking performance was worse when compared to the complete TECS system. However, the tracking was better than holding the elevator fixed with only the altitude tracker. 5. We also tried an elevated autoland, which we aborted before flare. We ended up taking over manual control and going around for another FAL.
