Abstract

FIVE is a development framework built for the Unity Game Engine to assist in the development of Virtual Environments intended for use in Virtual Reality. Our framework aims to allow developers to design environments that can change size to fit a user's physical spaces. This allows for more natural exploration of virtual spaces. The framework makes use of Unity's built in hierarchy and editor to streamline development. A variety of effects can be achieved using FIVE, such as static and relative translation/scaling, and object tiling. Despite limitations caused by angled objects, the framework provides a solid foundation for future work to explore a new system for developing Virtual Environments.
