Abstract

In my 3,650-word review essay "Loretta Graziano Breuning's 2021 Self-Help Book Status Games, and Walter J. Ong's Thought," I first highlight the mature work from the early 1950s onward of the American Jesuit Renaissance specialist and media ecology theorist Walter J. Ong (1912-2003; Ph.D. in English, Harvard University, 1955). Then I turn to highlighting Loretto Graziano Breuning's 2021 self-help book Status Games: Why We Play and How to Stop (Rowman & Littlefield).
