Abstract
In my 4,850-word review essay "Jonathan Eig"s 2023 Book King: A Life, and Walter J. Ong's Thought," I highlight in detail Jonathan Eig's massively researched and lucidly written biography of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. (1929-1968; Ph.D. in theology, Boston University, 1955). Interspersed throughout my highlights of Eig's 2023 book, I have incorporated relevant highlights of the work of the American Jesuit Renaissance specialist, cultural historian, and pioneering media ecology theorist Walter J. Ong (1912-2003; Ph.D. in English, Harvard University, 1955).
